Apartment prices to go up by up to 20% in 2008

Representatives of real estate consulting companies predict that apartment prices will go up by up to 20 per cent in 2008.
They said that over the past two years, the pace of launching residential projects “on paper” was much higher than completion, and currently, Bucharest needs some 300,000 properties.
For new apartments, the analysts from Colliers provide an average raise by 15 per cent per square meter while the representatives of Esop consulting company predict this rate to range between 10 to 20 per cent.
Therefore, in 2008, the average price for one square meter is expected to be EUR 1,700.
