Camelia Sucu to invest EUR 40-70m in residential projects

08 January 2008

Camelia Sucu, one of the founders of furniture company Mobexpert, and owner of the premium furniture trader, Class Mob, intends to launch her own residential projects including luxury homes. The projects are estimated to be worth EUR 40-70 million. In 2007, Camelia Sucu acquired 25,000 square meters of land around Bucharest for these projects.

"I am planning to spend all of 2008 in an in-depth study of various projects, collaborating with architects in the country and abroad to develop a team, and find suitable bank financing,” said Camelia Sucu for Business Standard. She added that she is more interested in smaller, very attractive and time-resistant projects on well-situated plots of land, to be considered well worth investing in. Sucu did not specify how many homes she plans to build.

The business woman might continue acquiring land in 2008, provided there are opportunities on the real estate market. Following a divorce last year from her businessman husband, Dan Sucu, Camelia Sucu walked away with the Class Mob company and EUR 40 million from her former husband for 40% of her Mobexpert shares, coveted by various investment funds.
