Ryanair enters local market

Operating 627 routes in 26 countries in Europe, low-cost air carrier Ryanair announced its expansion into the Romanian market as well, with the opening this April of two routes: Arad-Milan and Constanta-Pisa.
Thomasz Kulakowski, sales & marketing manager for Central Europe, said that Ryanair had the largest number of passengers last year, i.e. 50 million, the highest increase in this respect.
The company official stated in a press conference that Ryanair currently offers the best prices in Europe, with an average tariff of EUR 44.
For Romania, the carrier proposes “unrivalled” prices for the two flights, starting from EUR 12.99 for the Arad flights and EUR 17.99 for the Constanta flights.
Ryanair officials expect approx. 80,000 passengers for the two new routes in 2008, including primarily Italian tourists with high spending power. Reservations for the aforesaid flights may be made on the company web site, by credit card.
