Highest housing prices in central and northern Bucharest

The central and northern part of Bucharest remains the most expensive from a residential point of view, from EUR 2,000 to EUR 3,600 per square meters with the most expensive properties being situated in the Primaverii and Cotroceni boroughs – EUR 3,500–3,600 per square meters.

“Homes in those areas are the most expensive, the areas being sought for mostly for the many and varied facilities they have – green area, good access to public transport, as well as shopping and leisure facilities,” according to the real estate service provider Coldwell Banker Affiliates of Romania.

Cheaper properties are available in Dorobanti – EUR 2,500–EUR 3,200/sqm, and EUR 2,800/sqm the new ones. In Cotroceni – the fourth in the Coldwell Banker table – the price of property may reach EUR 3,600/sqm.

The fifth is the Herastrau area of the Capital City – EUR 2,800–EUR 3,300 for older properties and EUR 2,700–EUR 3,500 for new places.

Among the top ten most expensive boroughs of Bucharest there are Floreasca, Aviatiei, Baneasa, Unirii – Alba Iulia and Unirii – Vitan. The price of property in such areas ranges from EUR 2,200–EUR 3,000 for old buildings and EUR 1,700–EUR 3,200 for new developments.
