Wizz Air sees 70% rise in turnover in Romania in 2008

Low-cost airline Wizz Air expects EUR 50 million in turnover in Romania this year, up 70% on the year, company officials said. Wizz Air plans to double the number of its flights and its capacity on flights to and from Romania. Three Airbus A320 aircraft will operate in Romania.
''By 2009 we will operate 30 flights in Romania and have 200 employees. Through this expansion, we plan to become leaders of the Romanian market,'' company's official, Natasa Kazmer, said.
The company's main competitor in Romania is Blue Air. Wizz Air has a 31% market share, while Blue Air controls 35% of the market.
