30 September 2008
Romania plans to invest EUR 100 million in infrastructure in the 2009-2013 period, Finance Minister Varujan Vosganian said.
''Romania had sustainable growth from 2004-2008. Budget spending for transportation will amount to EUR 4.55 billion in 2008, while 2009-2013 must be the time for infrastructure,'' Vosganian said.
The Minister added that Romania could attract some EUR 250 million in investments during 2009-2013. Half of those investments are seen to be made by companies, he said.
''Of the total investments in Romania, EUR 35 - EUR 40 million will be foreign direct investments, a further EUR 60 - EUR 70 million will come from the state budget, EUR 18 - EUR 20 million will be investments in the energy sector, EUR 25 - EUR 28 million will be EU funds, and EUR 120 million will be investments made by companies with Romanian or foreign capital,'' Vosganian said.
