Real estate transactions down 32.9%

The number of RE transactions fell 32.93 per cent on the year over the first eight months of 2009, to 224,700, but a slight revival occurred both in July and in August, when the number of deals rose m/m, according to the National Union of Public Notaries.
In July, the number of RE transactions was 30,600, up 2,400 from June, while in August the number of deals increased by 700 vs. July. Over Jan-August, as much as 224,700 transactions were concluded, compared with 335,000 in the same period of 2008.
