Romanian developer to lease houses to prospective buyers
15 September 2009
A Romanian real estate developer plans to let prospective homebuyers live for a while in apartments similar to those they plan to buy.
"The apartments are furnished and fully equipped. Any down-payment is returned in full if the prospective buyer is not happy with the home they picked," Impact Developing and Contracting said in a statement Monday.
Significant real estate growth in Romania in recent years has reversed and the market is now stagnating under the influence of the global financial crisis.
The local credit market has also tightened, leaving Romanians with less cash to spend on property.
