Great Britain interested in transport infrastructure in Iasi

Great Britain could be interested in the development of Iasi international airport, if a tender will be organized, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, Robin Barnett, announced on Thursday at the meeting with representatives of Iasi County Council and with interim prefect Sava Dragomir Tomaseschi.
The British diplomat emphasized the importance of Iasi International Airport modernization, as well as of the county’s infrastructure.
“We did not discuss a concrete project, but we might be interested in the development of the airport, when a tender is organized to this end. Infrastructure development in the transportation field is very important”, stated Robin Barnett.
The Ambassador also stressed that this week he carried out discussions with the Minister of Transport Radu Berceanu referring to the Romanian Government’s plans for the motorway development in the region of Moldova (Romania’s eastern part). According to the interim prefect, Sava Dragomir Tomaseschi, the talks between the two sides were focused on infrastructure for both the airlines and the railway lines.
